Shimon Sakaguchi to receive the Crafoord Prize

Professor Shimon Sakaguchi was awarded the Crafoord Prize in Polyarthritis 2017 “for their discoveries relating to regulatory T cells, which counteract harmful immune reactions in arthritis and other autoimmune diseases”. The award ceremony will be held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on May 18.
Prof. Sakaguchi will be the fourth Japanese prize winner, and three of which are currently or used to be IFReC researchers.
